Optimus Legal’s Principal and General Counsel, Jane Mallor McBride, helps her clients get to the next level of success through highly effective and customized coaching and consulting programs. She works with individual attorneys, helping them to market themselves effectively to both internal and external audiences for even greater career and business success. She consults with law firms and corporate legal departments on strategic and business planning initiatives, marketing and management issues, and attorney placement and staffing.
Jane is a 1976 graduate of New York University School of Law. She has practiced law for over thirty years, beginning in the Corporate and Securities section of a major New York City law firm, and moving in-house as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for a national real estate investment company where she also ran three operating subsidiaries. She had a successful solo practice in San Diego, CA. Prior to founding Optimus Legal in 2001, Jane was Corporate Counsel, Dallas and Director of Legal Services of a national legal placement firm, where she was also involved in marketing, business, and training initiatives. She has coached and trained attorneys, salespersons, and executives for more than twenty years. The unique breadth and depth of her experience in law firm and in-house environments, as well as in business and marketing, provides a foundation of real world knowledge and experience that helps her clients achieve the success they desire. Jane is selective in her choice of clients, and is passionate about helping them reach their goals, taking a personal interest in their success.
Jane is an active member of the National Association of Women Lawyers and currently serves on the Planning Committee for the National Association of Women Lawyer’s General Counsel Institute, Annual Meeting, and women rainmaker programs. She serves as a Council Member of the Corporate Counsel Section of the State Bar of Texas and is a past-President and Executive Director of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. She is also active in Attorneys Serving the Community, a group of Dallas attorneys who volunteer time and efforts towards charitable fund raising. She is a member of the Texas, California, and New York Bar. Her articles have been published in the ACC Docket, distributed to over 20,000 in-house counsel, Dicta, Corporate Counsel Review, and the Texas Bar Journal, and she is a frequent speaker at attorney programs in Texas and nationally.
